Our B6 left indicators do not work except the side repeater, which does, its an intermittent problem and normally lasts a few days before it packs up and then starts working again for no reason that I can fathom.
I have run VCDS and there are no errors being detected. I have also tried the Output test on the Cent Elect controller and the Left Front and Rear indicator inputs are working according to VCDS, but the indicators except the left repeater are not physically working. From the threads on the forum it appears that it maybe the Power controller that is at fault but is there any way of checking this just in case there is any other possible causes.
Thanks

Is the bulb connection corroded? Maybe not making full contact

Or the metal contact loose? I once had to bend the contacts a little when I had aftermarket headlights in, but that was on an A3

Stalks fail pretty often too.

Hi H45man,
Yes checked the bulb connections for corrosion- all ok, also replaced the bulbs just in case.

Try get a voltage tester thingy and try check the pins/connection to see if anything comes across and measure the right side too.
Changed fuse? Not sure if that would make difference :/

Managed to borrow a voltmeter and checked the voltages for the left indicators on {Power Controller T23/6 and 9 no output and then tried the same for the right indicators J23/4 and 7 voltage Ok and going on and off. The only strange thing I noticed was that on the left indicator J23/9 the output was .01 negative and then 0 as the indicator cycled on and off from the noise of the relay behind the dash panel.

Intermittent Indicator "Out" fault (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/130943-Intermittent-Indicator-quot-Out-quot-fault)

Most are saying loose connection. Does it happen when driving over bumps etc?
Tried shaking the headlight unit a little with the indicator on? or wriggle the bulb holder
Process of elimination :aargh4: but hope its something simple before you have to go buying parts

Have you checked the connector on the bulb holder, where the loom attaches?
Mine has slight corrosion on one of the 'prongs' which causes similar problems every few months.

The stalks are known to fail. Do you ever have intermittent ticking from your dashboard? It's kind of a pain to replace, but if it turns out to be the problem, remember that it is a possibility to upgrade to cruise control if you don't have it, while doing the repair.
