Hi

My 61 reg Q7 3.0 tdi is at a miledge where the rear discs need changing. Believe they are the original discs still.

I was wondering what discs I should get and how much should I be paying. Also do you think it's worth just getting Audi to replace them?

I did the front with genuine parts but removing the retaining screw was a nightmare. Any advice on that?

I buy my brake parts from car parts for less, I think the are a part of euro car parts and I always buy pagid parts

Pagid are what we use BUT you can't properly assess the cost of 4L rear discs until they are off and you can see the condition of the parking brake system, this can corrode and the shoes start to crack and lift with the expanders £73 a side and the shoes £74 a set, genuine but the shoes are £42 by Pagid. The straightforward version takes around three hours so you should be paying £180 ish in labour and the parts cost is around £90 for pads and £170 by Pagid. Genuine pads are £91 and the discs are £184 so there is no a lot in it. I often get beaten by the dealers on these are they do the job at a loss for turnover.
