Hopefully someone can help.
Mk4 Golf with a faulty boot lock. There are several posts on the subject but I'm trying to work out which part of the system is faulty.
To make things worse the the lock seems to be faulty meaning my boot won't lock!
Anyhow, should I be expecting voltage across the blue and yellow wires which connect to the boot solenoid? The solenoid doesn't move when the central locking is locked/unlocked I have connect a multimeter across the plug (yellow and blue) wires and there is no voltage when locking/unlocking.
Is there a way I can put 12v across the socket of the solenoid and see if it moves?
I've checked the wiring at the point of the boot opening and they are fine.
Any suggestions?
