Hi All
I have a 2010 A4 with MMI Low but my maps are showing their age. I've read loads about map updates but it appears to be a very conflicting area. Some say you cannot update them without Audi, others claim to have done it very cheaply without help from Audi. Has anyone got any actual experience of this who is willing to share their success?
Thank you in advance!
S.

Hi guys,

I'm currently looking into this I have a 2012 A4 with the MMI 3G basic. FRom what I have read it's been done many a time. the first thing that's required is a firmware update, then an activator to be installed and finally the latest map. Apparently all can be carried out via SD card.

Every audi nav system(up to 3GP) can be updated without dealer and free, use other "nice" forums for that specific info:)

Cant share this info here as its "against the rules - illegal":)

It can certainly be done for almost all versions of the Audi navs, (I say almost since there are different options for updating different versions and different ways), I have just updated my 3g+ from 2013 to the latest 2016 maps and firmware and that all for free since this was a retrofit so the option of going to the dealer did not exist for me!

Just takes some time, depending on your nav type (2G, 3G low/high, 3G+), mine took around 3 hours in total excluding the time taken to download the firmware and 29GB worth of maps!!! lol

Hi all, sorry for jumping on the thread. I have a 2009 A4 Sline, and as to my knowledge has never been updated, i was wondering how i could do this, My dad has a jaguar xf and acquired the update disc for his via a forum, but i believe the audi satnav is a bit more indepth. i was wondering how i do this and where i can acquire the neccessary tools as i am refusing to part company with £300 with audi to do it.

Regards

Nothing is with audi update "indepth"...simple google search will lead you to the other forums where you find all you need. Its useless to say "i have audi sline 2009", you still may have around 4 different mmi systems! So please write the mmi system name you have!

PM sent:)

sw version is most reliable source, but looks 2G yes if dvd in boot. In glove box you probably have AMI audi music interface!

Check the software version of the nav, if it ends with P_XXXXX, its the original from factory however if it ends with K_XXXXX then its been updated
