As in the title, I have just completed quite a bit of work on my 2006 1.2 Polo and I'm getting the emissions light coming on solid every couple of days after turning it off.

I posted a thread recently about sorting issues with the wiring to pre and post lambda sensors and this sorted the emission light coming on after the car was up to running temp. I am now left with this new fault every couple of days.

A list of the work I have done in the last month which could be ruled out if related is as follows:

Replaced plugs, replaced two dodgy coil packs, replaced pre cat lambda, replaced camshaft sensor, recent new battery and new rear silencer. I did notice that the light didn't come on for 4 - 5 days the last time i reset the fault codes and I don't know if this was down to taking it easier on the motorway e.g. not really going over 60mph and don't know if this could be related to the problem, i'll try and keep under higher speeds and see if the light stays off for a longer period of time.

Other than the light coming on the car runs great, pulls fine, good mpg and no other strange noises or symptoms of misfiring / exhaust issues. Of note - i did fit a pre-facelift rear box which was a bit longer in length than the one I took off, this wouldn't make a difference would it? It was for a 2005 1.2 Polo.

Anyone have any ideas other than the obvious Catalytic Converter kaput?

Codes pulled as follows:

16804/P0420/001056 - Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold

Possible Causes

Leakage in Intake and/or Exhaust System
Catalyst faulty
Oxygen Sensor(s) faulty
Oxygen Sensor(s) Control faulty

Possible Solutions

Check Intake and Exhaust System for Leaks
Check Catalyst
Check Oxygen Sensor(s)
Check Oxygen Sensor(s) Control
Perform Oxygen Sensor(s) Aging Check

16725/P0341/000833 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): Implausible Signal

Possible Symptoms

Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active

Possible Causes

Wiring from/to Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) faulty
Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) faulty
Timing misaligned

Possible Solutions

Check Wiring from/to Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
Check Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
Check Timing

Thanks for any input.
