Hi,
I'm in the process of bringing a 1999 A4 2.8 Quattro avant back to life. While I have it on stands with the exhaust and rear diff removed I thought I'd replace the fuel filter.
This job is a pain in the thrupney bits.
I can see why the filter looked like it'd been on for at least 10 years.
Top tip, don't try to remove the screw that holds the clamp around the filter. Hacksaw through it.
Drop the fuel tank by removing the four 13mm bolts.
Pull the filter down and undo the banjo unions. You'll need a 22mm spanner to hold the filter. 19mm for the banjo bolts.

if doing this on your daily driver then allow 3 hours from start to finish. The banjo bolts need a good nip to stop them leaking, remember to replace all four crush washers
