I have just bought new e b c brake pads and elsawin says that the brake pads have a directional arrow on the inner pad but these ones dont ???? should they ???? any tips to stop any brake noise as well ????

Maybe study how the old pads are situated for clues.
The backs of the pads should have a layer of sticky adhesive (like double sided tape), peel backing off before installing pads.
Also lightly grease sliding calliper bolts and the little 'ears' on each end of the pad where they touch the calliper. Use brake grease (copper grease can mess with the rubber boots on the sliding bolts).
All that should help to minimise brakes sticking and squeaking etc

There is no sticky stuff on them . the old ones are cheap ones that have been noisy since they were put in thsts why I am changing them .

Look for ' disc brake quiet', which is more like gluey type stuff.
