Hey guys, I have a 2004 Golf SE with the black plastic rear bumper. I bought a set of Cisbo parking sensors and intend to install them myself. Everyone seems to install them on the painted body rather than the black plastic bumper.
1. Does anyone know which of the two following photos (found on google images) seem the be a better location for the sensors? I know they are very similarly placed but here is a slight difference next to the number plates.
2. Is it OK to drill the holes straight through without hitting anything? I don't know if I need to be careful of anything behind there.
Thanks.

I installed a set of cisbo parking sensors on my MKlV Golf some time ago, There is a heavy steel crash bar behind the plastic bumber so you need to be carefull on the drilling positions.Search on here I am sure there is a "howto" which gives you the drilling positions. Also you need to pick up the reverse light wiring over the nearside wheel arch for the signal pick up. It is not hard to remove the rear bumper cover but recommend a mate to help as it is flexible and ackward on your own. On the above examples the outer sensor is not far enough out towards the edge (the grey one) you want them on the curve so they see to the side a bit. They worked very well. found this for you, I worked to this Sketch, but go a little bit more to the outside even just 1 inch.

30158Aah interesting, thanks very much for that, I actually decided to not risk doing it myself and I'm having a guy come over to install it on Friday. It will be very useful to have those measurements.
