Passenger side (left) door.
Started as intermittent Airbag warning light. Foxwell NT500 codes variously indicate Airbags 01222 crash sensor side airbag sporadic 011 open circuit; sporadic 007 short to ground; or sporadic 006 short to Plus.
When sensor plug is disconnected, the only code is sporadic 006 short to plus. So sensor appears to be OK.
Sometimes also 00532 Supply voltage B+ sporadic 002 – lower limit exceeded.
While first running diagnostics, various other codes appeared and the front doors fuse blew. Fuse replaced and did not blow again - driver’s door then OK, but passenger door lock still not working.
After all codes cleared: no fault with ignition off. Airbag sporadic 006 short to plus with ignition on.
Airbag sensor & door lock problems are possibly linked. Shrouded cable door-to-car is obviously suspect.
I opened up the door end of the shroud, which looks as if it has to be clipped back from inside the door and that can be accessed.
The body end of the shroud is inside the bodywork and inaccessible.
Removing the passenger-well trim, I guess that the cable to the door is the one going through the foam grommet?
How difficult to change harness? Haynes gives up on this, neither does it show an airbag wiring diagram.
On a safety issue – volts floating around on airbag sensor wiring sound dodgy. From a diagram I found, it looks as if the crash sensor works by a short circuit although it has a resistor across it, presumably for diagnostics. Hopefully this is a voltage free circuit? My user manual shows a passenger airbag inhibiting switch in the glove compartment adjacent to the CD player, but I don’t have the switch. If a code is set, does it switch off that airbag?
Some months ago I replaced the window regulator on that door, but I doubt if this is linked to the fault.
Once sorted, this may still leave the door lock problem – wiring, lock or under passenger seat control module?
So many questions! Any advice appreciated.
