EGR valve on AWC engine

Hi folks
I'm looking for a bit of advice if I may please?

I have a 51 reg Alhambra with the 1.8T 20V 150 bhp petrol engine (AWC)

I'm showing fault code 16785... sooo figured I would remove, clean and replace the EGR valve.

This engine has a completely different EGR valve to anything I've seen before, or can find info on, on the 'net.

I think I've finally located it buried at the back of the engine on the passenger side.

Any tips on how to get to it? and how to remove it to clean and replace please? it doesn't seem the easiest to get to!
