Hi,
Should the radiator on an 07 Alhambra sit diagonally?
I live on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland and was recently involved in a three-car collision on the M25, sustaining damage to my 2007 Alhambra front and back. I drove the car back home; but as you can imagine, there isn't much choice when it comes to repair garages here.
I went to a garage specialising in bodywork to see if they could do everything. The guy assessed the required repairs and his assessment has been okayed by the insurer of the party at fault, who was the guy who drove into the back of me, causing me to drive into the car in front.
I realise it's an insurance job so from the garage's point of view it's Christmas. The guy assumed I was lying about some of the things that were damaged in the accident, such as the key, which my knee struck and damaged when I was banged into (I was lucky it still functioned) and the windscreen, which sustained minor chips. His attitude was "yeah, that's a good idea, to say it like that to the insurance".
Anyway, after the accident the radiator has been sitting so that it isn't parallel with the front bumper. It sits diagonally: one side is noticeably further back than the other. When I first went to the garage, I brought it to the guy's attention. When I went back there to hear his assessment, the first thing he said was that he had looked it up and it's actually supposed to be like that, to sit diagonally, and that everything is OK with it.
I have little knowledge about cars. Can someone please either post a link to the workshop manual or advise me, just on the simple question - is the radiator in a 2007 Alhambra supposed to sit diagonally with respect to the front bumper or not? Maybe it is; maybe it isn't. I'm just a bit suspicious; that's all. One of the guys who attended after the accident told me it had been knocked out of position, out of its mounting.
