My Audi A4 Avant 2.0 Tdi has a message on the Mmi says Please reduce engine oil when i check it on the Mmi display , it was last filled up when it was serviced last october by dealer. Is this serious do i need to take it back and get it checked ?
Is there a way to check the oil level ?

This could be serious, take it back. Have you noticed coolant level dropping slightly?...

This way you get oil level reading on dis, check if they match with MMI

1.After drive, stop and shut off the car on evenground
2. After 3-5 minutes pull the bonnet release and open drivers door
3.Switch ignation on(dont touch pedals or start the car)
4.Press reset button on the right lever twice etc and oil level should appear in DIS.

If the oil level HAS gone up you must not drive it.

Check with the car on a flat level.

Have you topped up the oil at all?

It may just be very sensitive sensor and it is just at the max level. Only real way to tell is to drain it and measure how much comes out.
