2014 audi a6 c7 3.0 tdi paddle shift steering wheel coding

Hi I am new to this great site. I got a steering wheel with paddles which was identical to the one on the car with no paddles everything works except the paddles followed the info on coding the paddles. went into 16 coding 07 long code helper binary was 000015 went to byte 2 changed the option to msfw with paddles coding went to 000035 it said code accepted.
went back in code was back at 000015 no paddle function. went to audi dealer today they tried and could not get in they said they tried a7 before no luck the new updates from audi this year stops retrofitting. i would greatly appreciate any help on this if anyone has information I have heavily modified this car and this is first obstacle i ran into

when i used vcds under long code it changed the code from 000015 to 000035 it said code accepted but didnt change so i used a launch x431 v and inserted the code 000035 and it changed and activated it but vcds also had byte 4 in the gearbox activate paddle steering wheel to tick as well under long code also used launch. weird but it worked i used vcds on all the mods listed on this site without issue
