What gearbox oem oil part number ?

Don't rule out a well chosen 75W 80 .

There are many oil suppliers the meet vw spec standards,
Just use 75/90 synthetic.

I personally use comma fully or semi synthetic never had a problem, but others will use other stuff,

opie.oils.com will reassure you.

There's oil and then there's oil !

You are far better off choosing one with a recommended VW oil spec but has a lower 40 degree C viscosity that will make cold shifts buttery smooth, when older gearbox oil thickens so deviates from viscosity mm2/s specs causing poor cold selection shifts .

The 40C viscosity on a 75W80 can be almost half that of certain 75W90 , also with less drag it frees up some , power, torque and mpg .

Great oil but it's definitely on the thick side from cold as my other car doesn't like 2nd gear till it warms up with MT90.

Red Line MTL is a lighter weight version of MT 90, I'd go for that or some of the superb Fuchs products .

I use this in boxes that feel a bit notchy when cold
