Recently bought a new phone, a galaxy S6 and having problems with my phone directory in the car.

It seems to be accessing my g-mail contacts and not my phone book. The phone contacts list on my phone looks ok, but when I look in the car it shows pretty much anyone I've ever e-mailed, it shows e-mail addresses as well as numbers.

It has also stopped the voice control, saying the directory is too large to access. I can still scroll through it, but it is so big it takes ages. I didn't have this problem with my last android phone, so not sure what is going on.

I can't just log my g-mail account out as it is a work phone primarily and that is how I access my e-mails.

Anyone had the same problem, or anyone got any ideas how to resolve it?

Do you use any other contacts than those saved on the internal phone memory?

If not try:

Opening contacts

Select "More" from the top right corner

Settings

Contacts to display

Then either select "Device" if all your contacts are saved to the phone memory, or select the cog symbol next to Customised list and expand each set of contacts you don't want and un-tick them.

Then I'd delete all the contacts on the cars address book and re-sync the phone.
