Can you let us know how you enabled this via vcds? Would this work on a 61 reg Q7 with 3g hd mmi version?

And, after you have used it about three times, I bet you will disable it again, too. Oh the irony if it turns out you can enable it but not disable it. That feature is just designed to irritate drivers.

As the option is greyed out as per my image , I am assuming it's not functional ? And therefore would like help on how to enable the function

I thought it was standard within MMI. Nags me to death although not in a shrill way like my normal passenger. ;)

A quick "OK" normally shuts it up for a while...

Its in the mmi.

You can see it in the MMI (see attached image) but it is greyed out - when I press the MMI button it says " not available"

do I need to do some "changes " in VCDS or Green Menu to enable the functionality of turning it on/off ?

Sorry about duplication of images - can't delete them

mine is in the MMI see image in my previous post , as i said before it is "greyed" out and therefore cannot be selected IE cannot be turned no or off.

when I try to select it it says "this function is not available "- words to that effect.

i would like to know if I have to enable /change something in either VCDS or Green Menu to enable this function.

I think it's probably buggered.

I have no idea why the feature is shown greyed out but, given that the Rest Recommendation function has no hardware of its own and that the system is enabled and works on many cars (certainly it's on the facelift), and given that its primary input is from the steering wheel (detecting steering inputs that are incompatible with the road geometry), I am going to hazard that the software version on the control module for the steering is out of sync with the MMI with regard to this feature. I can't think why else it would be unavailable.

For those who's Rest Recommendation is working, if you have VCDS ,with the Green Menu enabled.

Would you look in the Green Menu and check the settings for the Rest Recommendation so I can compare it with my settings , there are 3 places to look.

1st place) select "car" , then select "carmenuoperation" - rest recommendation is labelled as "Weariness Recognition (MKE) " -the adjustable numerical "slider" is set to "5"

2nd place) select "car" , then select "carbusassignment" - "Weariness Recognition (MKE)" - this is set to " [CAN Komfort] 1/9 "

3rd place) select "car" , then select "cardevice" - "Weariness Recogntion (MKE)" make sure square box is selected IE solid green colour.

Many Thanks.

It's a pain, comes on every 2 hours and it is based on a minimum rest so even if you stop, if it isn't long enough it warns you again! Switched mine of on all the Audis I have had.

After doing a bit more reading it seems the CAN gateway plays a part in this too along with coding in #44 Steering Assist.

did you enable the "Auxilary heating / ventilation " in the end ?

That's strange , What do mean by not being able to get the menu working ? Was it "greyed" out?

Please could someone post there coding for Steering Assist #44 from VCDS, And green menu settings for the rest recommendation (labelled as Weariness recognitions the green menu) when they have time:D

chris's post above is from an A4 - so A6 may be different.

(the option is still greyed out in the MMI menu and I would like to resolve the issue)

The Audi info says apart from time behind the wheel, it looks for jerky steering inputs, such as if you are reacting too late.

Mine is firmly off.
