View Full Version : Question Squeaky driver seat
Hello,
Over the last few days I've noticed that the driver seat makes squeaky noises when I turn, and my weight (below average before you ask!) tilts to the side of the seat.
It sounds like two pieces of metal rubbing against each other (think squeaky door hinge).
Funny enough, if I change the seat position to bring it forward a notch, it stops.
I could take it to Audi but I'm quite busy these days, so if any of you have already experienced this and sorted it out with a bit of oil / grease / silicon, I 'd be happy to do it myself.
I have electric lumbar support and heated seats, but nothing more. They are satandard SE seats.
Thanks for your help / suggestion.
I'm getting something similar on mine and I have the full electric memory seats. If I move it up a little it stops. Unlike you though I'm 17 stones and 6'3.

Same here - Mine did go in for other noises along with this one but at the time of the test drive, it didnt happen or when it did, it was not apparent enough - it's going back in for the same initial rattle so I will point it out again
OK, so it looks like a non straightforward issue maybe, and one they should know about. Will contact Audi then.
Thanks guys.
So I've contacted Audi who took the car under warranty and ended up changing the whole base of the driver seat.
Now all working fine, and I can take roundabouts in silence. :D

Didn't even realise the seats were two piece! Well done on the replacement
I didn't update this thread but had another up basically to say in my case, the entire car was replaced however the replacement also has squeaks from the seat. It's on the right side base where the leather meets the plastic.
They've yet to give me a spare key so when I go in to get that programmed, I'll get the seat looked at/replaced.
What I did notice was the bolsters on both passenger seats are looking fairly wrinkled despite keeping them conditioned. Passenger does not even get used more than 2-3 times a month. Got to wonder about quality in the C7's!
Mines going back in. They sorted for a while but it's came back. Every time I corner I can hear and feel something moving in the seat.
They did not change the leather. Just the metal frame underneath (the one bolted to the car) I think...
@A6S, what are the symptoms?
Mine squeaked every time my weight shifted to one particular side (the right)
That's exactly what happens with mine. When I corner I can feel the seat move. Sometime it's a clicking sound or a kinda rubbing sound. Feels like something isn't seated properly. It's going back in for the summer wheels soon so will get them to look at it then.
