Hello

The passenger side inlay on my 2015 A6 has been scratched. Only small, but it is a vertical scratch against the horizontal grain of the brushed aluminium. It is right in the middle of the inlay (Matt-brushed aluminium – 5TG)

I suppose I could live with it for the next three years but it is really quite annoying - and then some! Can these be changed, has anyone done it and any idea of cost?

Thanks

They can be removed, remove your own and order the part number. Simple.

Hi Chris and thanks for your reply. Any idea of the procedure to do this? (for removal)

Which one is it?

It is the large dash inlay on the passenger side. I think it is the longest piece of trim in the car.

Most of them just pry off but here is a good listing on ebay which displays the front but also the back to show where the clips are

AUDI A6 C7 4G 2011- DASHBOARD STEEL TRIM MOULDING BAR | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A6-C7-4G-2011-DASHBOARD-STEEL-TRIM-MOULDING-BAR-/301749895649?hash=item4641b201e1:g:cgYAAOSwHjNWBGQ 1)

Last image is the reverse/clip side

Yes as above, it just clips off. Get yourself a trim removal tool off eBay, saves scratching it anymore

Let me know how you get on - I need to do the same in my FL A6 too. Had a slight slip when installing the brodit car holder and scratched it though mine is behind the holder so not so obvious...I just know its there
