Been ages since i've used a Forum as Facebook pretty much killed all the forums i ran or was a member of, but sometimes forums are better..lets hope so !

bought an Audi A3 Sportback Sline 2007 about a year ago, been fine until the ESP warning light popped up a few weeks ago so i came looking for a good information source on what is going on, thats why i've joined, but also i'm getting itchy feet i have been customising cars since the 80's and the Sline is still stock.... not sure i can live with that so going to investigate all the 'usual mods' that people are doing to see if i like any....

current fleet includes a engine modded Vw Golf Clipper cab, Rotten VW bay window undergoing huge rebuild from the ground up and the Audi, unfortunately i dont own anything 'special' at the moment but after selling my last toy a new toy is on the cards...

Hi ! :beerchug:

Have you checked the brake wire for any splits or cracks?
Should be on your left side caliper pads.

Welcome. Try and get someone close to you to scan with VCDS. There is a section in the forum with members who are willing to help and a map. Don't think it will be the wire from the brake pads as this just shows up as a brake warning not ESP. Might be an ESP module or speed sensor but you need to get it scanned.

Thanks for the insight, VagCom gave a 20 error (what ever that is) the guy that scanned it seemed to think it was a common fault and the ABS pump needs a rebuild, but would like to confirm this before i pull it apart, he also said that you need something special to purge the system ??

Corr bimey guv' just spoke to a company near me called power developments and to rebuild the ABS pump is £408 !! he said it takes 3.5 hrs because they have to go through fault diagnosis to bleed the system

I've searched these forums for the list of people with VCDS etc but cannot find anything :( buti think it may be worth buying my own Cable and Software and doing it myself ?? any thoughts on this, and anything to look out for ??
