Hello
Noticed today one of my bulbs went out on my q7 dash, its was a small section on speedo on the 20-30 mph section.
Question is how do i remove the dash and replace that bulb. What bulb is it that I need?
Also this thing common on these cars?
The bulb itself is back on now, i tapped dash and it came back on.
Any help appreciated.

You can't just replace it, they're soldered on and aren't individual serviceable bulbs.
A firm like BBA Reman fix them but you need to send your cluster to them so you'll be without the car for a couple of days.

Ok are you sure as ive seen a pic that looks like the twist style bulb.
To be clear this is not the lcd display. Its the mechanical speedo section

Which pic was that? Post it up?
I know what you were referring to, happens on the 8K A4's as well.

I suppose you could give it a whirl but you may break it if you're not use to doing it.
Send it to a professional who specializes in doing them (BBA) and their work will be warranted.

Ok. Will I have any problems with locking the car if the cluster not there while the car is away?

You can lock it, just can't drive it.

I changed all of the LEDs on my previous car. Easy if you're good at soldering. Here is a photo of one....

The car was an Astra at the time, also did my insignia but you can change any button to any colour. I changed the sport button to red and the heating so it was blue on cold and red on hot
