hi there, hope someone can help me. sometimes when I press clutch pedal it just goes straight to floor as if there's no resistance then it works like normal, same pressure all the way down. can anyone suggest what it might be?? thanks for looking.

First check the brake reservoir is full and that there's no leaks between the reservoir and the gearbox. Is there an external cylinder on the gearbox~? If so get someone to press the clutch so you can see what's happening. If there's no cylinder visible it's inside and you need the box out. Can you add a photograph and some details about your car, engine size, fuel etc

reservoir is full and I can't see any leeks anywhere and can't see any other cylinders.
car is a mk5 golf 2ltr tdi 04 reg and has done 130,000miles
