Evening all, finally got round to buying a DAB unit (Fistune 38919). Looks like it hooks up via a fibre optic cable to the main head unit. My A6 has a milti CD player in the glovebox, so rather than remove the facia & head unit I was thinking of splicing it into the CD cable connection. Does this sound like a reasonable approach?
It also means I am working on just the passenger side of the car for the cables and aerial onto the windscreen.

The Fistune normally comes with a fibre split cable. Depending on what equipment you've got factory fitted, I thought they normally go in the boot? Taking a split fibre split from the Radio/TV/Amp units?

You can put the split anywhere on the MOST loop as it all runs the same.

Thanks chaps. I have the RMC (?) version so there are no separate components in the boot. Looks like I can connect via the CD changer.

ok, all fitted and a weird problem.
First turn on and it worked perfectly. Re-assembled glove box and had some lunch. Came back from lunch and DAB not listed as a media Source. Removed glove box and re-connected power. DAB was listed so re-assembled glove box whilst listening to DAB station to eliminate knocking a wire when re-fitting. Again, went away and came back to see no DAB listed. Just looked at the Kaufatec website at a different Fistune and saw this:
Vehicles with DAB from the factory has to use the article number 39818. In this case, the vehicle may have neither a CD changer or a DVD changer
https://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/fistune-dab-solution/fistune-dab-dab-integration-audi-mmi-3g-mmi-3g
Now I have the 38919 version (as I have the RMC radio) and I do have a factory fit CD changed in the glove box. If I look at the description I don;t see an equivalent reference to CD Changers
FISTUNEĀ® DAB / DAB+ Integration Audi MMI RMC-39818 (https://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/fistune-dab-solution/fistune-dab-dab-integration-audi-mmi-rmc)
I'll drop Kufatec a line to check (even though my chassis number was checked prior to order), but before I take the glove box out for a 3rd time, are there any other thoughts?

Are you sure you've got the right version?
By my reading of the webpage it's 39818 that RMC should use instead.

I believe so. I have the "3G RMC Navigation" unit so based on advanced-incar checking my VIN number and me decoding the log book (I can see "PRCode: 7T2 = Navigation system (LOW)") I ordered the 39818.
What;s really frustrating is the site says "Audi A6 4G with Radio Low II, Pr.- Nr. 8DP" and the "7T2" is only ever listed for an A6 4F (I have 4G)

Just found out the "Low" bit means I either have DAB or CD Changer, but not both.
Anyone interested in a CD Changer?
