I think your heater motorised flaps are stuck in recirculate position and you are just recirculating humid air round the car. Not sure about a sweet smell or smoke though.

I found neat washing up liquid out performed any anti fog .
Lots of things it could be .
Water ingress from perished seals
Heater matrix leak
Blocked dirty pollen filter
Recirculation flap stuck closed
Towards the end of a journey put the heating to cold as hot air left inside the vehicle will condensate on the cold glass .

No filter in it..! The top rear cover is also missing, leaving the filter exposed. I've purchased a carbon filter, setting if to audi to see if I can order a part for the filter housing.. Thanks again guys.

Do any b7s come with a sunroof? Could be blocked drains? I know the mk5 golf platforms had issues with the pollen filter housing seal leaking in to the cabin, door card seal etc......... could be loads of things.

Yep blocked plenum drains , pollen filter housings and inner metal door seals wreck havoc across the VAG range .
Is it also the case with the A4 B7 ?

Heater matrix is leaking on to the aircon pipes therefore creating white smoke release from behind the dash.. Watched a video on YouTube doesn't look that bad..

The pipe connectors to the matrix can sometimes just come loose. Check before you buy a new one.
