Volkswagen says 800,000 cars may have false CO2 levels - BBC News (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-34712435)
Good time to buy shares in vw group ;-) the more crap that comes out the lower their price.
The company as a whole will survive this and at the end of the day they are good at what they do. They make good old solid cars so when all this crap goes away then shares will start picking up and you can make £££s.

After the first announcement (EPA NOX), I would have agreed with you, but now..... I wouldn't like to bet on that. The fines and costs could easily exceed the total value of the company. Yes, I expect all the brands within VW Group to still be around in five years' time, but right now I'd bet that the the Group and its remaining members will be totally different to what it is currently. There are a lot of heavily loss-making parts of VW, so I can't see them being allowed to continue launching new cars with no prospect of a profit. I could imagine a fire-sale of the profitable brands, too.
I like a gamble 😉
It's mainly the USA that wants to shaft vag as they aren't American. This is where it's gonna be the biggest fine.
To be honest this isn't as bad as other brands. Toyota with the sticky throttle and dodgy airbags I would say has the real potential to kill someone whereas vag is really getting fined for a bit is dishonesty. Every company out there is dishonest. There's not really any remote possibility the dodgy emmision is gonna kill, well not instantly. Toyota bounced back pretty well so I expect vag will once it blows over.
