View Full Version : Diff oil change on 2004 allroad
I'm about to change all the 3 diff oils on my 2004 Audi allroad with tiptronic box. Does anyone know how easy this is and if there are any tricky bits?
Thanks

Thanks for that .. The tip about checking the filler plug first before draining is a good one. I was really wondering about the centre and front diffs as these seem a little more difficult to access.
Ok .. Here's what I did to change the oil in the diffs. Use 75/90 oil. The front diff is accessed by the O/S front wheel well. Its tricky to access the filler plug but not impossible. There is no drain the fluid needs to be sucked out with a hand suction pump. Replace with around 0.8ltrs of oil till it runs out of the hole.
The centre diff is accessed underneath the car near the autobox. There is a drainagain it's tricky to get at but not impossible. Drain the fluid out and replace with 75/90 via the filler till it runs out. You should get a similar amount out.
The rear diff is more simple and is the same as the centre diff.
NB. Before opening any drains make sure you can open the fillers!
