Hello all
Just brought an 07 s-line with loads of Audi fitted extra's.I have a few questions if i may...
1) If i remove battery to charge for winter will all the settings i've spent a week sorting out be reset?
2)Can Audi give me a printout of all work done by them on car ?(services, recalls etc)
3)Would like a spare key...does it have to be a remote key like the one i have ?(been told that they are very expensive)
4)Car has years MOT and no advisories (140k) with some service history, and drives really really well. Are there any faults to look out for?
5)Have insured car as having aftermarket wheels but the option code sticker in boot says that car came with 18" alloys. How do i know which alloys came with the car?The ones on it at present i think are called "rotors". Are these the originals
Thanks :D

1, no need to remove battery for charging, the ctek style chargers are excellent, I got the one that come up on special at aldi for 15 quid.
In fact I have two and they have been excellent so far, use don many things all with batteries connected

1. Yes, C-Tec is probably a good idea, I had to remove my battery completely to clear the drains underneath it and had to re-set most things when it was re-connected.
2. Never asked but VW did it for me once, only the stuff they have done mind you but if you have Audi history you should get a good bit of info. Have you seen this; https://mot-history.net/ could also be worth doing.
3. I need to do this too, be worth a separate Google, apparently you can get a blade and almost any keycutter can cut this for you. You then need someone with certain software to code the key to the car, it is better if you gave the 4, I think digit code from the instrument cluster but most people don't (I don't) and that's where the software comes in, to interrogate the cluster and get the code. There are keycutting specialists who can do the lot, I am a bit sceptical about this but Audi are expensive and when I get round to it, it may be my best option.
4. In my experience, knocks from the front suspension, usual Diesel stuff DPFs etc, brakes, mine has advisories for flexi pipes, so I guess I will need to do some come the MOT, can't think of anything else other than the obvious tyres, exhausts lights, wipers but you've probably checked all that...right? Also mines Quattro and I don't think any diffs had been topped up recently and that's with full history.
5. Rotors won't be original but are Audi wheels so I doubt they really needed to know but it's always safer to keep them up to date. Most S-Lines came with RS6s, which are probably the most common 2nd hand wheel on the market and they are pretty good quality and fairly cheap but there are also replicas about which are not so good. Mine is an S-Line special edition and so came with twin spoke S4s, plenty of them around 2nd hand but there were not so many cars came with these from the factory.
I am no an expert so hopefully others will chime in, I am a bit of an Audi nut (some may say just a nut) but only had the B7 since July, so not experienced a lot yet. Happy to help if I can or tell you my story so far if you are interested, all the best :)
