Hi Guys
Apologies if this has been covered before, but I'm in the process of selling my Range Rover Sport and next I'm after a Q7.
It will be around a 11/12 plate and I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to run through what the option packs were for that year and what they consisted of? And is there any must have's that I should insist on when choosing my new motor?
Also, is there anywhere I can find an option list for that year or run a vin to get the build spec?
Thanks
Sparky

That's probably because nobody has any factual response! We don't like to speculate or mislead!
I can't tell you the exact data on packs.
But I would say 1stly to get the late 11/12 Reg. That'll ensure you get the 8 speed transmission. Which is day and night better than the 6 speed of the original.
Also, make sure it has side steps and wheel arch trims. They are both functional and also aesthetically enhancing of the car.
A final must have is Rear parking camera.
The other specs I'll mention are all dependent on WHO (including other drivers eg your Mrs ) will be driving.
Where you'll do most of your driving.
What creature comforts you're accustomed to.
I know some Landrovers are well specced, so you wouldn't want to get a new car that makes you feel you're taking a step back!
1: Bose Sound System- if you want decent audio. The standard one is ok. But struggles to create a rich soundstage in such a large interior.
2. I'm 6ft2" my girlfriend is 5ft3". So constantly having to adjust the driver seat, steering and mirrors etc after she's driven it was annoying on my last car, so I got the memory pack and smart key on this one. The added convenience is worth the small premium.
3- I commute and drive alot on motorways at night. If you do too, I'd also suggest high-beam assist. It's another convenience worth the premium.
4- if you have kids or ever need access to Internet: Netflix etc taken you'll want MMI High + 3G that way you can put a data sim in the car and use the car as a Wifi Hotspot. It shuts the kids up! And also gives you Google Earth Maps with live traffic updates. It MUCH better than the standard satnav (which I guarantee will be outdated).
I hope that helps!

I'd certainly look at the Sline Plus model which came with side steps, tinted glass and the tech pack as standard at a reduced cost. this model is far nicer to look at than a standard SLine.

A nice option is the adaptive cruise control too and the lane assist and side assist.
I was lucky as mine was fully optioned when purchased and it near doubled the list price being the 4.2tdi!!!
