Hello everyone,
I need help with a faulty high level led brake lights on my C6 2007 avant. They don't work and there is a fault warning light on my instrument display.
I don't know if the unit is broken or if there is a faulty connection.
Has anyone had experience with this
My MOT is due and this will be a fail so can someone reply with a way to reach the unit or advice on an auto electrician in manchester.
Much appreciated

just a matter of stripping the trim and replace ... seems obvious and easy??

If connections just a good clean up, if internal not worth the time/effort so I'd buy a new one.
Think part no is 4F9945097, but best check with a main dealer tomorrow.
Can be had new off ebay for circa £40, but may be quicker to get from your local dealer if a replacement is needed for MOT

Thanks, I don't want to risk breaking stuff unless I know exactly how to do it ! The rear hatch surround is all plastic and I can see clips in the gap between the metal and trim.... Not sure where to go from there .....

There are quit a few wiper motor replacement guide versions.... Just need to find the right one. Ironically I remember having the same issues with my wiper motor and took it to Vw and got fleeced of £290 for new motor and locking mechanism and fitting

So my issue is finding a way past the plastic surround .... See pictures here... I see clips (the closeup show these)

Shows how to remove the lower trim which needs to be removed first. The upper trim then comes off the same as the lower, clips which you need to pull.

You don't need to remove the trim. If your careful you can just prise it near the lamp area and get in. It is awkward tho, you have to reassemble the lamp fixings before you can put it back in the car. There are no screws holding it in. Just a sliding bracket. As I said it is awkward and once you undo the bracket by sliding it to one side all the bits come loose and need reassembling.
