A6 Avant BE delivery

I have just ordered an A6 Avant BE. I went with the dealer as he had a build slot available for pre Christmas delivery, less than a week after paying my deposit etc I get a call telling me there is a problem with the alloys I have specced and that the quoted delivery is now March 2016, however if I have the standard alloys it would be delivered late November. Has anyone else come across this? This is my first Audi and to be honest the dealer has been great upto this point however i am slightly bemused by the delay!!!

Doesn't seem fair, delayed for alloys, that's like being at the Golden Arches only to be told to goto parking bay 2 as they are making you a fresh quarter pounder..... but if you change your order to 2 cheese burgers you can have them now.... (I know bad analogy but I could not resist)...

It's worth the wait.. unless you ordered Quattro and your expecting to play in snow.
Audi are not quick. :)

You could ask them to order with standard alloys which they then swap with those of a demo car in march. My car turned up with the wrong alloys despite me double checking via email that they had ordered the right ones. Once they realised I would not accept the wrong ones the swapped the wheels with a demo car.

There was a guy who ordered an A7 with special alloys and it added about 6 weeks to his delivery. Unfortunately the car was vandalised at the dealers when it arrived!
Of course, it may be that they(Audi) are expecting to be busy with recalls!
If you can wait, I would. Get through the worst of winter in older car.

I had to wait 5 months for mine. I was considering an RS6. They were 7 months wait.

They are now quoting a typical lead time so I suspect you have been sold a bit of a line regarding your dealer having a build slot.

Well spoke to the dealer and currently have two cars ordered for me. If a cancellation comes in they will change the wheels, we shall see.
