Just did some work surrounding the coolant and temp sensor now my economy is suddenly in half. Looked through all the hosing to make sure everything is connected, it's all connected. Bled out all the air out of the coolant system via the blow hole and heater core hose hole, it's a 2003 Audi A4 1.8t

Hmmm,
Can't see how working on coolant can affect fuel economy (assuming the car is not overheating!). The coolant system is totally separate from the "drive" system and is there to remove heat from the engine core. What temperature are you getting (using VCDS)? Could the sensor be faulty?
Could you have got some coolant into the MAF? - they are very sensitive? or did you accidently disconnect one of the vacuum hoses?
It could also be a coincidence! BTW, a halving of your economy suggests something quite big is going wrong (IMHO)!!

Have you replaced the coolant sensor? if so where's it from???
