Hi, I hope this helps anyone who has problems with dead key fobs.
I took the batteries out of my two key fobs and binned them.
After four days the new batteries arrived through the post. Fitted them and the fobs still didn't work.
Oh dear.
After a search on the forum, I read about re programming the fobs and the many costs involved, so like any sane person I threw things around, swore a lot and cursed Audi.
Then this is what I did:
Open the door with the key blade, sit down and start the engine, lock and un lock the door with the switch on the inside of the door.
Press the lock and the unlock buttons on the spare key (nothing happened), and then the same with the key in the ignition (nothing happened), again lock and un lock the door with the switch on the inside of the door.
Turn off the engine, get out and lock the door with the key blade.
Make a cup of Coffee, go back to the car and one key fob worked, but the other didn't work.
Insert the blade from the one that didn't work in to the drivers door, lock and un lock with the blade, with out removing the blade now press the lock and un lock buttons on the fob. :D
I'm sure this will work with tea or coffee. Maybe beer.
