HI - Apologies if this seems dumb but I am a newbie here so bear with me

My Audi Q7 4.2 TDI (2010) has some alarming issues - there seems to be alot of oil around the big silver tube coming out of the left side of the engine cover that has the hose connection with a jubilee clip attached - the right hand side one is clean

Under load (low revs but heavy acceleration) I get alot of smoke (fills the rear window)- but no smoke under normal or high revs - so suspect it is the tubro (or worse)

If I drop the car in to sport mode and give it full bean it takes off like a scolded cat - I get the smoke and the car alarminly refuses to stop accelerating (even if I lift off) - I can get it under control but then I get a clatter from under the bonnet

Blown turbo or somehting else?

If it is the former what are the costs from a main dealer

Thankis

I think you need to get this looked at quickly. It sounds as if you are getting diesel engine runaway which can be catastrophic. Google it and there are videos and explanations. This might explain the smoke. Is your oil level changing?

Here is a good page. Your issues may not be too bad as this suggests a couple of explanations but best get it checked properly.

i would actually park it up and simply not drive it until its fixed. get it recovered to wherever you decide to get it fixed. what is probably a new turbo could be a new engine if you carry on using it.

Actually I just went to double check it - the oil looks to be above max on the dipstick BUT no-one has put anymore oil in the car since the main dealer Audi Service -how can this be? the Oil loks fine no emulsion - I cantfugre out how the oil is gaining - this woulod explain the leak as well out of the front large (breather?) pipe

Sorry just looked it up and I think the silver pipe at the front is the intercooler pipe?

make sure everything is done up ie hoses and clips and no splits in the air intake pipes as this can make the turbo spin up more giving u more boost but can damage the turbo ie more smoke and oil plus if u just had it serviced they could have left something lose and its worked free since then good luck hope u sort it
