Audi A6 Chorus system

Hi all,

I 've just bought myself a 2003 Audi A6 avant which has a tape player only. I just wondered if anyone knew if the wiring for a cd changer would be present by standard or would I need to run the cable to the boot?

Does it not have the changer in the boot already, it's normally behind one of the covers on either side of the boot.

No it doesent, I asked the previous owner and checked for myself. I thought it should have one but.... shame as the rest of the system is really good, great sound.

I think it probably should have had one but I'm not sure if the wiring will be there if it wasn't fitted from new. My advice would be to get the likes of a parrot mki9200 and stream your music via Bluetooth, sound quality is good on them too.

Thanks for that Mick. Do you know if I could just do a straight swap with something like the Audi Concert CD head unit?, I do kinda want a CD player

I'm pretty sure you could swap any audi head unit in there alright, my 04 a6 had a 6 disc changer built into the head unit. You will need to have the code removed from the new unit before you fit it.
