Hi,

i've encountered this issue since last week.

Randomly, I cannot lock the driver's door. when I use the remote, all doors are locked but the driver's door is not and the red light is not blinking. Also, at the same time windows cannot be pull up or down. Moreover, when I open the driver's door, it is not shown on the dashboard. It seems the car cannot detect the status of driver's door.

The only way is to lock and unlock the car with the remote several times and then depends on your lock on one of this tries, the door is engaged and everything works fine but the problem comes back again anytime.

Any thought or idea about this issue? It is an A4 2006, 2.0 TDI

Check for broken wires in the loom between drivers door and the A pillar. Common problem.

Thank you very much, any idea how much does it cost to repair? I am not a DIY person and I should have it done by a mechanic.

No idea on cost.
If you're not going to fix it, why do you need to know what's wrong.
Just put it in a garage and let them sort it out.

The door catch assembly has a few micro switches built in, I had to replace one on wifes A4.

Like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A4-B7-RIGHT-DRIVER-O-S-FRONT-DOOR-LOCK-CATCH-MECHANISM-8E2837016AA-/111728026985?hash=item1a03826569

Think I paid about 90 quid for hers, was new but cannot remember where I got it from!
