I have an A6 C7 Avant 2012 which is now 3 years and 2 months old so it is out of warranty and time for it to break!

The whole MMI with the flip up display and the main dashboard display including speedo are completely dead.

The rest of the car still runs fine (engine, lights, indicators, brakes, locking etc) but I don't know how fast I'm going!

I have had the car for a year with no issues but the MMI was completely dead one morning when I started the car.

I have turned the car off and on again a few times but no change.
I have tried to check the fuses but I don't know which is the appropriate one so help here would be appreciated.
I have tried an MMI Reset but that did nothing.
I have disconnected the battery, waited 30 mins but no effect.

So any help on knowing which fuse to check or other ideas would be much appreciated before I have to go to Audi to replace the whole electrical system....

Many thanks in advance.

A fault scan with VCDS would be a good start.
Post full scan results here so people can see what's going on.

I have left a message with Audi and hopefully I can make progress with them next week. It has full Audi SH so I would hope for some goodwill:-)
Should Audi give me the VCDS scan results?

Wife's car is 6 months out of warranty and they just replaced a door lock (£250 worth) for free.

I use Yeovil. Not very close but still the closest.

Yeovil is nearer to me by a couple of miles but Poole is easier and quicker to get to.

On my C6 I checked the fuses in the end of dash (drivers side) last month and pulled them each to check condition, I do remember one of them completely killed MMI, noticed as I didn't reseat it properly :(

If you find your way further up the M5 will be happy to do a scan for you.

I had a vaguely similar problem in a 2006 A6 sometime ago.

My MMI screen failed to start on a few occasions and it turned out to be a failing battery.

In my case, replacing the battery solved the problem.

Sound similar to a problem I had with my 2013 C7 Avant last year.

The MMI went dead, so did the speedo and some of the lights, although it did flash up ABS failure, Tyre pressure monitoring failure, traction control failure all at the same time. Then a 'Do not drive!' message appeared in the middle of the DIS.

It was caused by a data controller under the back seat failing. No idea of cost as it was still under warranty.
