Hi All
Looking for some advice here, I have fitted the Bi-Xenon lights on my 2011 A4 Quattro, however the Kufatec Cable additional two cables have no where to plug into on the BCM, I checked when I removed the Red and Tan plug and the pins just are not there for Pin 3 (TAN) and Pin 9 (Red). So my understanding is that without this connectivity the Main Beam will not work, the 09-Central Electrical part is 8K0 907 063 M, which I am lead to believe needs to be replaced with 8K0 907 063 N, This is also confirmed that the existing module is not correct by the VCDS coding of "26" is out of range and I had to use "23" to stop the Bi-Xenons flickering
I just would like someone to confirm that I need to get 8K0 907 063 N to fix the main beam issue and correctly code it with "26"
Also is there any complications in just swapping the Central Electrical part over?

I think you can use part N, P ive used D(check audizine forum for this huge thread). After replacing this, system will go under component protection(dimmed cluster etc) you need visit to the dealer to remove this.

Yeah I was looking at the kit from Kufatec, although not sure what needs wiring in where with that kit, I suppose I don't go towing a caravan or trailer so auto leveling is not something I am gonna miss as I did not have it there on the Halogens :-)

How easy is it to remove that module and replace?

Does your friend have any instructions? I have everything removed ready, just cannot seem to remove the ECM itself, there's a load of stuff in the way so I cannot get access to the release clip
Gunnark100

Ive got it somewhere, i belive you need to push wires left or right to gain access to the clip. Give me few minutes.

Going crazy at my local Audi dealer, they are refusing to remove the protection as they said they can only do this on brand new parts!!!!!
Gunnark100

Yes its typical problem, as they have inside rule to protect spare part market...ive did it few times, try to be nice:)...thats the key...(but its wrong(simple lie) that they can do this only for new parts)

Other idiotic thing if this part is from car which is blocked in the system.
Hopefully not!!!

For them its just harder process then new part registration...there are threads where people complaining that local dealer do not know how to perform this:)
You may try call seat, vw, skoda dealers they could help as well, as they should have same access.

Yeah just tried local VW dealer who said it is not something they can do it has to be done at Audi but they agreed that Audi should not be telling me they cannot do it, they suggested I call their own Audi dealer too

After a strongly worded email to the Audi Dealer I got this response:
I am sorry that you have been given the incorrect information. There is not a problem with us removing component protection from an item. It takes about half hour to do on a convenience or voltage control unit. The charge is 78.60 for this.
Please be aware that this does not include any basic setting, fault finding or diagnosis but purely removal of the security lock. We cannot give you a guarantee that the component will function after the unlock or that it will not adversely affect the operation of other systems.

On my small country local dealer -20% was 28 euro or so, make sure you have your old coding as well which needs to be replaced, but you know anyway:). After they remove cp you copy paste your old coding, change bixenon bits and all good. Lets hope its not from blocked car.

Might have hit a problem, it seems I have lost function to my Heated seats, and enabling them results in a VCDS error, I wonder if the module I have has the Heated Seat functionality

I had the same, after cp was removed all was ok.

Ok Car going into Audi on 4th
I looked at the module I removed, which has three pins in socket G, but in the one ending in "N" it has no pins in socket G

Just looked at images for 8K0907063 D and that has the three pins in socket G, all the N modules do not, wonder if that is anything to do with the heated seats

Not sure about the pins, but cant see it could be the issue...if my cp was active seat heating was off as well-never know maybe "warmcountry module is different if thats the final issue, but lets wait until 4th - cant belive)...Will check in elsawin tomorrow.

Yeah, my system still allows me to switch on the Heated Seats and select the level through the MMI but no heat, I wonder if there is a Heated Seat controller in VCDS ;-)
Gunnark100

As my first module was B i think seatheating is part of every module, usualy later suffix means newer mor function soft in module.

I wonder what that "G" plug is for, I just did a search for the module ending in "P" and that has the pins in there as well as the Bi-Xenon Main Beam ones

I did find the "RS" Startup Logo for the MMI whilst I was playing with VCDS, looks good :-)

Bad news if its correct in your case:
Connector G (6-pin)
Pin 1: Seat heating front left (heated driver's seat -Z6, heated driver's seat backrest -Z7); not if seat ventilation fitted)
Pin 2: Vacant
Pin 3: Terminal 30 - 3
Pin 4: Vacant
Pin 5: Vacant
Pin 6: Seat heating front right (heated front passenger seat -Z8, heated front passenger seat backrest -Z9); not if seat ventilation fitted)

Change out the module with D or P(info from audizine).
Audi Q5 (2010 - 2015) - Силовой модƒлŒ бовой се‚и. - šа‚алог з/‡ VAG ETKA Online - Drive.by (http://www.drive.by/spare/etka/audi/aq5c/687/907020/)
By this website N is for PR code 4A0 - no seatheater.(so there is warmcountry modules).
At the present there is one cheap 50pound on sale from Germany(ebay uk). You will be on time before 4th.

Wouldn't getting a "D" module be losing any functionality that was introduced with the original "M" module that was in my car? It seems the "P" modules are much more expensive than the "D" modules
Many thanks for confirming the "G" connector

You might be right, if someone with etka program can help you out to see which pr codes has module D, i belive D version was produced before 2011, but still all functions where available for audi since 2008.

Looks like main differents is:
D-W/O start/stop
P-W start/stop
As this part is from different cars soft may be different as well.

Seems like they did use "D" in 2011 Quattro A4's according to PartsBase
AUDI A4/S4/AVANT/QUATTRO [A4Q] (EUROPE) 2011: ELECTRICS: 90700. ONBOARD SUPPLY CONTROL UNIT; CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT FOR; CONVENIENCE SYSTEM; DIAGNOSIS INTERFACE FOR; DATA BUS (GATEWAY) (http://www.partsbase.org/audi/audi-a4-s4-avant-quattro-a4q-eu-2011-90700-onboard-supply-control-unit-central-control-unit-for-convenience-system-diagnosis-interface-for-data-bus-gateway/)
But as you said "D" is for Non-Start/Stop and "P" is for Start/Stop, so looks like I have to find a "P" at a relatively decent price

Yes looks like, still its confusing as many guys have retrofited start stop without replacing modules etc and many modules have functions which they should not have(by paperwork).
But go for safe option and i hope P is the right one.

I compared all the Pins in Sockets D, E, F and G on Modules ending in D,M,N and P
D has more pins in Socket E than any other module, N has the same pins in Sockets D,E and F as Module ending in P, but P has the Pins in Socket G, M has far less pins than all other sockets

As per german link, it all depens as well from which car model this module is and which soft they have. If D is w/o start stop and you have, safe go with P, still never know, if i remember in audizine one had problem with P and other was ok, probably they had different soft inside.
