Q7 newbie.. IPhone 5s connectivity?

Hi Guys,

Getting used to my Q7 now and love it but still cant seem to connect my IPhone 5s to it to play music. The Bluetooth function works ok ie. to use the telephone but can't get it to play music from the IPhone.

Do you have to buy an adapter or lead or something?! There isnt any cables or interfaces in the glovebox...

Car is a 2007 Q7 3.0 tdi.

Depending on the MMI you have, audio streaming via Bluetooth isn't standardly available across the board.

No, its doesnt work via the bluetooth... I've spoken to my local Audi garage and all they recomended was a 'retro fit'... But i dont want to go down the route of cutting and splicing cables etc to make it work!! Just wondered how other people play their music via IPhone 5s in their 2007 Q7's?!

Do you have AMI in the glovebox? If so, you can get a bluetooth dongle (e.g. Video Tune2Air), plug that in and your phone will speak to that. MMI Screen control is very limited but it does work. Or you can plug your phone into the AMI using the cable, get full control but I don't know if phone call functionality will work at the same time.

There doesnt seem to be anything in the glovebox.. no cables or even holes at the back of the glovebox that a cable would run through.... Removing the glovebox and having a look is an option I suppose?!!

Noooo....you don't need to remove anything to see it if it's fitted. There would be a socket of some sort visible.

Mines a 2007 and the ami is in the centre armrest, we just run an adaptor out to the phone

Thank you so much for your replies.. The only thing I have in the centre arm rest is what looks like an old style car phone charging port.. Surely this isn't the music interface?!

That's how mine is set up, I just go to media and it streams music from the phone, it's the old iPhone lead with a genuine apple 30pin to lightening adaptor, tried the genuine audi leads when the iPhone 6 first came out and none worked, they may have fixed it now.
