Guys just need some help please

I have a 2005 MK5 golf and have a HID kit fitted in.
I took the car to Halfords for an MOT And they have failed it. The mot reports says

Nearside headlamp aim beam image is obviously incorrect
Offside headlamp aim beam image is obviously incorrect

I had MOT test done last year by the same place and I had the same bulbs etc in. I have not changed anything but they have failed it this year. Can anyone advise what I should do? I really don't know.

Many thanks

I would suggest putting the standard halogen bulbs back in and leaving them in I'm afraid. Unless you spent the extra £300+ on actual HiD projectors for your lights then HiDs won't reflect properly... Blinding other drivers and reflecting incorrectly. HiDs produce light from a different point in the bulb to halogens (single point) and therefore will not work with reflector headlights at all and still shouldn't be used in halogen projectors. Get a nice set of Osram Nightbreakers. Epic bulbs. Or Phillips White Vision ( i have)
Great bulbs

Hope this helps and I apologise if I sound blunt bud. Too many times I get blinded by people using DIY hid kits in halogen projectors/reflectors. Nothing personal :)

as above, you got failed because you're putting a hid kit in a reflector headlight. fit the standard halogen bulbs, get the level set and you should pass easily.

Thank you for that. That's what I'm going to have to do. Do you know how I could change them? I have the original bulbs etc. I don't know where to start. The halfords guy said he would charge £100! Which I can't afford really

last year the mot rules were different, its good to see dangerous hids such as these failing the mot so people have to remove them. all you need to do is remove the bulb and holder and fit standard bulbs, but some of the kits required you to cut plugs off and cut holes, so you may have to resort to getting some bits off a breaker.

This is the best news ever! BAN THEM ALL! Death to the illegal HID!
