Different part numbers

Hi folks,

I'm a new to me A4 owner (2003 1.9tdi Quattro) and I'm thinking about swapping to a double din setup. As my climate control is suffering from the usual worn switches I thought it would be a good idea to buy a better condition double din unit off eBay. I've found one that's in perfect condition and the part numbers match apart from the last 2 letters, mine ends AA and the one on eBay ends BL. Will it work?

So.......I now have a diagnostics cable and VCDS lite. If I buy a climate control unit with a different part number do I have to recode it to work in my car?

If so, how?
