Hi, started a new thread instead of hijacking the other.

Had this fault since i got the van last year. Its a 2008 2.5 BNZ 130. 122,000 miles.

The van starts first time everytime on a morning. no smoke. No fault codes. Runs great. Once the engine is warm or hot, like even a 5 mile trip to the shop, when i go to fire it again it takes a few turns to start, literally 3 seconds and it fires. This only happens when the engine is warm or hot and when it is warm it happens very intermittenly!?

The temp on the dash reads ok all the time and ive just changed a camshaft sensor the other day as id read someone had the same fault on a caddy, but no joy.

When i got the van i had the injector harness changed as i was getting an injector fault and a few months ago i had the injector seals done as i had it terracleaned and after that the fuel was leaking back to tank. I also fitted a in tank lift pump and a set of glowplugs when i was doing the gates couplings.

Anyone had this or know what it is? I have a print out of how to test the crank sensor, so i think thats my next port of call. I was thinking starter motor?

Regards Stephen.

Heres a video, hope you can hear it as its quiet. Aftet its fires once and i turn it off sometimes it will fire again straight away and sometimes it will do this again.

Hi,
Got the same t5 2.5tdi 131bhp BZN motor, but i'm not "lucky" as you are....
My VW is driving me nuts!
The main problem is sometimes the car start to stalling as I slow down at junctions and won't start. I have to turn it over for half a minute or so to get it going. Seams to do it at low revs when foot is off pedal. Sometimes after/before the engine gone dead I feel minor vibrations when i change from 1 to 2 gear, like loss of fuel or lack of o2. On highway the car is amazing, running smooth.
Did a scan, and got crankshaft sensor fault. Nothing else. Changed the sensor and still got the problem!
Fuel tank pump seems ok. Fuel filter was changed too.
Yesterday tried to clean EGR, but one of the main bolts were impossible to open (seems like someone earlier tried that and broke them). So i took a look inside valve, it definitely needs a clean asap. So for now i blanked the EGR and gave her a spin with Diesel Engine Pre-Glow flashing onboard. It ran ok till engine cut off again. So i took off the EGR sensor for "flap" (not for valve) and test it again. Same problem plus EML onboard. After that got sensor back on, resested EML and leave it that way.
I think i will check PD, and compression on each..
Any other suggestions?!
