So having taken delivery of my shiney new Black A6 Black Edition Saloon (2015) having replaced my White Avant Black Edition (2013) I have a couple of queries.
I have tried the search (and Google) but nothing obvious has come up.
I did have an iPod Classic 160GB which worked perfectly in the old car with the blue lead (the red lead did not work). The new car has the latest tech pack on it and instead of the cable has two USB connections. If I plug the iPod Classic using the apple to USB cable it just sits there and says charging even though it appears to be fully charged. Does this no longer work with the latest version?
Additionally on my old car (auto) when I switched the car off the parking brake would engage automatically, the new one also Auto does not any reason not can't see an obvious setting in the menu but is this something that can be set?

This can (could?) be set with VCDS, not in the MMI.

Thanks I wondered if that was the case but I wonder why they decided to change the default?

I don't believe it's ever been the default, the default is not to operate the handbrake automatically when put into Park. My 2012 Avant S Line works that way, i.e. no automatic handbrake.

Sorry should have been clear, my Multitronic box when you put into park and switched the engine off via start\stop button engaged it at the time. When you put it just park it didn't engage the parking brake.
The new tippy tronic one does neither and its a habit I will get used to but would prefer the peace of mind of parking brake engaged when engine stopped.

If you have access to VCDS, You can enable this via one of the options. I've done this on my current Multitronic A6 and will hopefully be doing the same when I get my new one shortly. There is a sticky in this topic which outlines interesting VCDS mods.

With the new tech pack there are 2 USB ports one simply provides a charging point and the other is for AMI. have you tried both?

Oops I guess I should RTFM first, I plugged mine into the obvious looking one with the phone\Ipod symbol and then tried the other one which did recognise it as an iPod. I think my iPod battery or disk is on its way as I can here the disk struggling to stay spun up.
Out of interest in the MMI it has both sources selectable so surprised why one would be charging only and still appear.
Now trying to work out whether I try a USB disk, the SD card route or repair the iPod....

Yes I had seen that, I am just wondering if the Audi garage did that to my old car before I picked it up. Just need to find somebody to borrow one from as am skint now from buying new car :)

Sorry to hijack this but how can you tell the car you are looking at is Connect enabled? Is it that it has the touchpad to the left of the selector?

If you have the auto brake turned on (hill assist or whatever its called) then it will apply the handbrake when turning off the engine then exiting the car.

Connect enabled will have a SIM Slot in the Dash, between the SD slots

Another option is try fully powering the iPod off and on again while connected to the AMI. Obviously if the iPod is failing then there is not much you can do but replace it

My MY2014 tiptronic (BiTdi) turns on the handbrake when I exit the car with engine off even with the hill assist / auto handbrake turned off (and mine remembers that hill assist / auto handbrake is switched off between startups, unlike some earlier cars - I leave it turned off all the time as it just annoys me)
