Hi all

Just thought I would introduce myself as I have just agreed to buy my first ever Audi. Its and A6 3.0 TDi Quattro 218PS Stronic. Was going to call myself Chesterfield218 as i am also from the land of the crooked spire - but as I am looking to move it may not have been appropriate for very long!

Car is ex demo - I have read all of the threads on why you can buy new for cheaper than a demo - but believe me I cant, and the purchase price is almost a third off the OTR price. Car is now 8 weeks old so have to wait till late August to get hold of it as cannot be sold until it is 3 months old.

Spec is as follows:
Optional extras

https://portal.cpn.vwg/jctvms/AfterSales/images/open_folder.jpg 1. Equipment and design packages

https://portal.cpn.vwg/jctvms/AfterSales/images/open_folder.jpg [WB4] Technology Pack

-[6E3] Front centre armrest

-[9ZC] Audi Connect and Audi Phonebox

-[UJ1] MMI touch

-[9Q8] Colour DIS

-[7UG] Navigation system - High

-[I8H] MMI navigation plus

https://portal.cpn.vwg/jctvms/AfterSales/images/open_folder.jpg 10. Seats/seating comfort

-[4A3] Heated front seats

https://portal.cpn.vwg/jctvms/AfterSales/images/open_folder.jpg 11. Seat upholstery/leather trim

-[N7K] Perf Alcantara/leather S line

Car is daytona grey with black inside - although it does have silver stitching and matt brushed aluminium. Part exchanging a 2014 Golf GTi PP which I originally bought for my wife (and as my weekend toy) but she didnt get on with it - so bought her a Mini Cooper (that she really wanted - she had a Mini prior to Golf) and took to using Golf myself. Given my driving is predominantly straight up and down the M1, the Golf wasnt the ideal car. It was also 3 door and manual - not so good with an 80 year old Mum to chauffeur at times (and the wife) and also I work and live near London in the week, so manual is a pain!

Previous rides have been the usual eclectic mix from E class estate (my first 4 cylinder diesel for 10 years and my last for even longer I am sure - and a bit ostentatious for me), Volvo (several motorway mile munchers when i was doing 40k miles a year), an Alfa 156 (5 cylinder 20v) and assorted others. Toyed with going back to a 6 cylinder BMW but the dealers were shocking and never really tried to sell me something - doing a roaring trade in pre reg pre facelift 3 series so no need to try....

Looking forward to getting the new car, less so having to return to the dealer - my experience with the VW at my local dealers has been less than impressive, hoping I have more fun the other side of the lot...

saloon - sure at times I will wish it was an estate but decided that now the youngest has finally finished uni (having added an extra year!) I could manage - wont have the dogs in the car anyway as my wife pointed out so why have the estate....

I will look for you and "313" around - although I am only there at weekends these days. I do live in site of the spire though so really in Chesterfield (well it is in site if i walk a few yards on to the field!

And yes. cant wait - slightly concerned at the level of technology as I am of an age where connecting my phone via bluetooth is a major step! Looks like the youngest will be getting the manual out and teaching me very slowly.....

Same for me really - Im in 'Tibby', so not strictly Chesterfield anymore, but its the name Ive used for many years now. Just get the manual out when you can't figure something out, its the best way to keep getting little pleasant surprises out of the car.

Im yet to test out album art, or even load anything onto the jukebox yet. :D

Hi, doesn't narrow it down very much, spire can be seen from lots of places! Up in Walton myself. Nearly bumped into Chesterfield at B&Q a few weeks ago, but bottled saying hello as I wasn't 100% sure it was the right RS6!

We should have a mini Chesterfield meet, the car park at the Red Lion at Stanage would be a good spot. A few quiet country roads nearby for some RS6 launch control........

Ashgate Road to be a little more precise.

Up for a beer and talking cars when I get mine - you can explain the technology to me. Red Lion fine by me, dont think I have been in there for a few years.....

Ah, you might see me passing Ashgate Road, mother in law lives at bottom end near the garage and I pass the top end daily going to childminders in Cutthorpe.

Someone might need to explain the tech to me, maybe Chesterfield is up for giving us both a quick lesson? And maybe Whippy fancies a long drive and a reminisce?

I live about half way along so will look out for you tomorrow (early trip north this week as wfh for next two days!)

We could invite a few from outside the borough to show just how much nicer it is in the best county in England (and therefore Britain!)
