Hi

My Volkswagen Touran from 2008 isn't staring. When I try to start it the car is trying to start and than says "STOP" and gives some beeps.

And a message that my oil pressure isn't good.

I brought my car to my local VW Garage and they said the ECU is dead. I got a new one but still it isn't working. They tried to spray brake cleaner in the engine and it runs for a few seconds.

I have tried it with 2 ECU's bit no matter which ecu there a lot of fault codes. A friend of mine tried to access the "Engine" Module in VCDS but gets the error that the module isn't responding.

Does someone has a idea how I can get my car to start?

I am sorry for my bad English and my bad way of explaining. I have absolutely no know how of Cars.

Hi there,

1) Petrol? Diesel?
2) Engine number/code?
3) Can you post up the fault codes?

If VW charged you for a new EcU and it hasn't fixed the problem take it back.... Also, is your oil level correct? Have you checked oil pump condition?

I'm betting it's diesel as the garage sprayed brake cleaner into the inlet. I'm also betting your problem is either a fuse, relay or a poor connection.

Agreed. Sounds more like a wiring/fuse/relay issue as the ecu wont respond. Added to that, you cant just switch ecus my friend. All modules are coded together. If you switch any itl need to be coded to match the immobiliser etc. Put the original back in. Try a re-scan. Lemi know what happens then

I have the VCDS Logs with the Old ECU - New ECU and one without a ECU.

Holy ****. Im gonna go out on a limb here. The dealer reckons the cluster is at fault? ? The last car I encountered (Audi allroad) with this many malfunctions in terms of ecu hardware had a cooked fuse/relay box caused by rats eating the wires behind the dash on the primary loom. It was an absolte ball ache to repair and 2 ecus, central electronic unit and the air suspension modules were cooked as result of shorting out. Btw. Did your car drive fine then just suddenly cut out?
