Hi all,

So the front tyres of my car have worn out after about 12k miles, so I purchased 2 new ContiSport 5P AO at a cost of £240 from Tyreleader in Germany

The rears have about 4-5MM left, so was going to swap the rears to the front and the new ones on the back and get a hunter wheel alignment.

Would you rather say to wait until the rears go and change them all in 1 go?

I'd hate to have to pay for an alignment twice and would like to get the most of the tyres on the car.

Changing your tyres does not knock out your tracking so unless you know you have hit something you will be ok getting it done while you change the 2 tyres but ideally get it checked every 3 months

S114hed, may be useful if you posted your model/year in your signature strip, am guessing you have a non quattro based on your tyre wear, if it was a quattro it would be a little unusual.

Tyres/wheel and even drop link changes don't require an alignment. What I do every 3-6 months is have a basic non hunter alignment done here, since it only costs £15 and they point out anything seriously wrong that requires a full hunter. You can usually tell if your alignment is out by tyre wear

Since the majority of your wear is on your drive wheels I'd be putting the new ones on the front
