View Full Version : Question S-line exterior modding
Hi.
I'm looking to buy a 2012 model A6 avant without the s-line exterior package, but I really like the look of the s-line bumpers and spoiler..
So I'm wondering if any of you know if I can just buy the bumpers and spoiler on e-bay/ from audi and smack it right on?
(of course fix it up and paint it) Does the screwholes match up? And is the grill the same?
Thanks

It should be a straight swap
Is there an exploded view diagram or anything on those parts? A service manual?

Note that the S-Line trim level wasn't just bumpers. It also gave Xenon headlights and LED taillights. Plus of course the suspension and interior changes.
Personally, if I were changing bumpers etc on an SE I'd go the whole hog and do the S6/RS6 ones.
The car I'm looking at already has the sport suspension, and full LED.. And its got s-line interior :D
Saw a guy that did the RS6 mod on the audiworld forums, and it took some bodywork aswell, and I'm not too keen on doing anything that extensive..

Sounds like an interesting spec! Definitely sure it's not an S-Line that had an accident and was repaired with the wrong bumpers?
No, in norway you can choose to have s-line interior and not exterior/ and vice versa

Browsing through here may help

Hey.
I have done this to my car and can tell you some stuff.
The front bumper was direct fit. It worked on the mounts and bolts of the non-SLine. I have also put on the S6 grill. (S6 and SLine front bumper are identical). You can also fit the RS6 grill but you need to cut some connections from the grill.
The rear bumper wasn't direct fit. The supports under the taillights must be changed with SLine ones (they are cheap, approx 30 euros). I mounted it on the non SLine supports at the beginning but the bumper was stretched and didn't fit propperly (you could see this when you open the trunk).
Sideskirts are also different from non-Sline to SLine but I haven't changed them yet.
You can also fit just the SLine rear diffuser on the standard bumper. But this needs some adjustments and bodywork. It is not a direct fit.
Crap:p I thought I could just change the diffuser.... Do you have any pics of your car?

So first I went for the SLine. Here is the picture before and after. Non-SLine bumper with SLine diffuser. The bumper connections were cut and the diffuser was adapted on it.

And now I changed it a second time. The picture under is with the SLine bumper and the RS6 diffuser adapted on it. Same procedure as above. But a lot more costly.

I used all the S6 Grills in front rather than the normal ones. But all of them fit.
