View Full Version : headlight adjustment
Hi, I have just replaced the headlight bulbs on my b8 avant and they now seem really high compared to what they were before, also the adjuster on the dash doesn't seen to have any effect at all...
Thanks in advance

If they weren't like it before you changed them that would suggest to me you've installed them incorrectly and may not be seated correctly.
Thanks for prompt reply. As far as I can see they only go in one way (turn in ) but will check this morning. I'm guessing that if they aren't seated correctly that's probably why the adjustment dial on the dash has no effect. Thanks again Chris.

You have xenon, which adjustment dial you reffering to as you should have autolevelling or you have retrofited xenon?

Xenon fitted as standard but there is a small 3 position thumb wheel type switch on right hand side of the dash which slightly adjusts the beam height or it did in my older b6. Gonna check to make sure bulbs are seated correctly. Thanks.

If you have the beam adjuster switch you don't have xenon.

If the final solution is to adjust lights from 2 screws on top of the light, make sure to use vag-com cable before to relase the level system before adjusting.
Cheap bulbs make draw wrong pattern as well!

Yes something is wrong there, but picture is xenon with washers!
