Hi folks, I fitted a new driver side regulator today, didn't even think there would be any problems with alignment as I couldn't see any way it would go askew with the securing points
the window would only go down to start with, would not go up? cut a long story short, dismantled the sealed window switch (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_nkw=window+switch) unit and cleaned all connections, window working perfect now
but I did notice a scraping noise as it would go up?
Mrs was first to take the car out on the road, she came back and told me it was leaking as she could hear wind noise?
I went out and heard it for myself, then checked the window, sure enough she is misaligned ( see photos )

Any advice on how to correct this gratefully received

Cheers
Stuart

either you have fitted it incorrectly or the new regulator has been assembled incorrectly. where did the new one come from.

Ok, thats that sorted, yes I had installed it incorrectly, got back down to the gubbings and slackened off the regulator bolts for fixing the window, pushed the window hard up into place
bit of jiggery pokery with the regulator fixing points at the bottom of the door till they lined up making sure the window did not move
result - window now operating perfectly :)
note* while I was at it, I removed the window switch console ( as sometimes the switches had to be pressed a few times till the windows worked
dismantled the sealed unit and cleaned all the connections with fine emery paper, it's working like a new one now

Thanks again to all folks that pointed me in the right direction :D
