Hello,
i have a 2005 A6 avant. I went to replace the rear discs and pads as they had got to pretty much the backing plate on the pads.
i used vag com to open the caliber up after cycling it a few times via the button.
Got the caliber off ok and new disc and pads on, I went to put the caliber back on and it's not opened enough to accommodate the new pads and disc. They are the correct ones for the car.
I tried to fool the caliber into thinking it was back on with packing it out and tried to close and re-open the caliber via vag com.
something went wrong and now the caliber piston looks to be almost right out.
i removed the motor and seen if I could wind the piston back, it comes back some then wants to turn as I turn the piece where the motor slots in.
I have tried to push the piston back in as I turn it but it just stays put. If I reverse the direction the piston will want to push back out but it's already way too close.
Has anyone seen this before and have a solution? Or am I looking at a knackered calliper.
if I'm leaving info out you need let me know.
i appreciate the help.
Garry
