Hi, I have just discovered my clutch is now slipping - I want to get it replaced asap.

I have read about changing for SMF or DMF what is the best as I want to get something that will last... I am intending on getting it mapped within the next 6 months.

Any suggestions?

A remap and a SMF will cost you a gearbox in 3 months plus you'll then have to buy a new DMF

Ok so stick with a DMF and it will take a remap and won't destroy my gearbox?

Is it a diesel? The DMF is now integral to the design of the car. You might get away with a SMF up to about 2001 but it would be harsh. The SMF is thinner so the throw on the pedal is very long.
