New to this forum, forgive me if this is in the wrong place.
Wanted a bit of technical help if possible.
Not sure if this is a common fault. Got an intermittent problem with my Audi A4 where the washer Jets aren't working. I located the pump and tested with a battery which worked fine

Do these cars have a relay that works in conjunction I should check. Or does the feed to the pump work directly off the steering column. This is doing my head in. Im good with electrics but dont want to blowup an airbag.
Is there a diagnostic that would show outputs/inputs etc

It occurred to me that, this is possibly the problem, although not tested it yet.

From what I gather the jet outlets are heated. I was thinking if the heating element went faulty, could this drag down the power to the pump??

UPDATE:
Today they worked...
Do these pump motors sometimes go defective? Would the system detect a faulty motor..

Mine have never behaved that way and I don't recall seeing any thread here on this subject before.
Not sure if a VCDS scan would pick up a fault like this.

Thanks Fella, it's a weird one. I presumed there might be a relay to carry the current load. Very hard to find anything. Just want me baby to do what's she's told

Mine become wired a year ago. The problem disappear by itself sometime and I can not find any pattern of the behavior.
- the washer is not working
- on first, auto position, the wipers are going full speed
The local dialer told me that the whole console with the switches have to be replaced, but I'm not very convinced.
